We have also included some more luxury activities for those of you wanting an extra special time.
Our Top Things To Do For Couples In KL

A quick look at our top things to do for couples in KL
- Rooftop Cocktails

- Dinner for 2
- Take a cooking class

- Take a day trip to the Cameron Highlands
1. Rooftop cocktails
Great views of the KL skyline aren’t hard to come by, why not combine seeing the city views with an epic cocktail sunset session? KL is full of impressive rooftop bars, boasting panoramic views of the city. Sit back with your partner and grab a cocktail. Then, watch the sun go down and the city light up under the night sky. What could be more romantic than that?
Some of our favourite rooftop cocktail bars for couples:
Heli Lounge Bar – If you’re after a truly unique experience, this quirky bar is the one. Heli Lounge is potentially the best place to watch the sunset in Kuala Lumpur. Being an active helipad by day and cool bar by night, you’re sure to impress your other half if you take them here!
Blue at EQ – One of the newest additions to KL’s rooftop scene is Blue at the EQ hotel. It may well be new but that doesn’t stop it from making its claim as one of the hottest bars in the city.
Jann – If you’re more interested in the cocktails than the view, Jann is the place for you. Each and every cocktail has a unique and interesting story behind it. All of which are dedicated to the traditional trades of KL’s Chinatown. We couldn’t resist trying a variety of their inventions but our top recommendations have to be Tau Foo Fah and the POS 1911.
2. Go for a romantic walk
One of the top things to do for couples in KL is to go on a romantic walk and thanks to the city’s diverse nature, there are plenty of places to go for a stroll. Taking your partner’s hand and exploring a new location together is what travelling is all about.
KL Forest Eco Park – This is a great place to come to relax and escape the ‘concrete jungle’ of Kuala Lumpur. You can come to this tropical forest to simply chill out, walk the trails or listen to nature. However, the most popular part is the canopy walk through the forest’s trees. These bridges offer great views of the KL tower & skyscrapers on one side and forest on the other. Make it a special occasion and bring your own picnic!
KLCC Park and Lake Symphony – If you’re looking for a fun night time activity, then a visit to KLCC park and lake symphony is a great option. The long path around the park is lit up at night, perfect for a romantic stroll and a great place to see the famous Petronas Towers up close. End the night by watching the fountains on the lake dance to the sound of music and perform a colourful light show. It’s one of our favourite nighttime activities in Kuala Lumpur and the perfect couples experience.
You can catch the free lake show at 8 pm, 9 pm and 10 pm.
Bukit Tabur – For the more adventurous couples out there, a hike to Bukit Tabur could be right up your alley. Go at sunrise to see the epic views and to make it extra romantic! Find out everything you need to know about hiking Bukit Tabur.
3. Dinner for 2
Enjoying a romantic dinner for two is one of the best things to do for couples anywhere in the world. But, KL has some extra special restaurants to really impress your partner. From panoramic views to dining in the dark, KL has something for everyone.
Some of the most impressive restaurants in KL:
Cielo Sky Dining & Lounge – This seafood and steak restaurant not only has amazing food, but a retractable roof to cater to KL’s everchanging weather. This makes Cielo Sky Dining a great place to come to enjoy the city’s skyline at any time. If you’re lucky to visit on a clear night, you can enjoy an almost open-air dining experience in the sky!
Dining In The Dark – Exactly as the name suggests, this restaurant requires you to eat in complete darkness! With rave reviews and an experience like no other, this would be the ideal place to surprise your date.
Canopy Rooftop Bar – Voted the number one restaurant on Tripadvisor for the whole of KL, you can’t go wrong with Canopy. It’s a little more laid back than the previously mentioned restaurants. So, if that’s what you prefer, sit back, relax and enjoy the epic view with shisha, cocktails and delicious Mediterranean food.
If you’re on a tight budget, but still want a great couple’s experience, why not head to Tapak Urban Street Dining? This new and trendy night market is one of the best things to do for couples in KL. Choose some delicious food from the various stalls, sit underneath the fairy lights and listen to the live music play through this open-air venue. All of these things combined make for a lovely, romantic atmosphere.
4. Take a Cooking class
If you are looking to learn about the local culture whilst still experiencing a great couples activity then a cooking class could be for you. Spend the afternoon enjoying quality time together as you master traditional Malay flavours in a cookery class. You’ll get to learn new skills, create special memories and the best part? You’ll get to share the delicious dishes you created and go away with happy and full bellies!

5. Relax and unwind at a spa
There’s nothing more luxurious than unwinding in a spa. KL has a number of places where couples can go to be properly pampered. Visit one of the city’s relaxing day spas and enjoy a couple’s massage. De-stress to soothing music, calming interiors and aromatherapy oils.
Some of KL’s best spas for couples:
Ozmosis – Spend the most blissful 2hrs 30 minutes enjoying Ozmosis’ ‘Time for Two’ package. Indulge yourselves with a romantic soak in a private jacuzzi followed by your body scrubs and massages.
Swasana Spa – With their very own couple treatment rooms, steam bath and jacuzzi as well as a relaxation lounge, you can plan your perfect couples spa day.
6. Take a Firefly boat ride along the Selangor River
If you’re a couple that prefers nature to big cities, then a short trip to Kuala Selangor could excite you. Embark on a truly magical experience as you take a boat ride along the Selangor River and see thousands of fireflies in their natural habitat. Although we didn’t have time to do this ourselves, it’s said to be an amazing spectacle and once in a lifetime sight.

7. Enjoy the city by night
For us, strolling around a bustling city at night hand in hand is super romantic. Why not go for a date night and combine some of the best things to do for couples into one evening.
No trip to Kl would be complete without seeing the Petronas Twin Towers lit up and up close. Start the night by gazing at this architectural masterpiece, then head to Chinatown to pick up some great food. Afterwards, end the evening bar-hopping around Chinatowns many speakeasy-style bars. The perfect date night!

8. Take a day trip to the Cameron Highlands
Last but not least, one of the best things to do for couples is a romantic getaway! The Cameron Highlands are only a short drive away from Kuala Lumpur City. Escape to the Highlands of Malaysia with its cooler climate, stunning tea plantations and impressive hiking trails.
You could even treat yourselves to a stay at the Cameron Highlands Resort. Their ‘signature picnic experience’ in the middle of a tea plantation is the perfect couples activity.
